Although having made its way from Austria to Canada, the Wiener Schnitzel is still a relatively unknown product in Canada. Made from pork, this thin pork cutlet is marinated and cured for 24 hours before receiving its outer layer of bread crumps. Since it is thin, it is quickly prepared by pan frying it for about 10 minutes. A golden crusty outside and a tender inside make for a gourmet delight! Pan fry on high heat for 5 minutes until the outside is gold/brown. Turn heat to low and fry for another 5-10 minutes until the inside is cooked well through. Turn schnitzel regularly throughout cooking process to avoid burning.
